Jazz Keyboard (Intermediate)

Overview

Explore jazz piano with performer and educator, Jamie Reynolds, on the Upper East Side!

Expand upon the fundamentals of jazz keyboard. The Intermediate class continues the areas of study covered in the Beginner class at a more challenging level. New topics include jazz improvisation vocabulary, harmonic guide tones, and comping patterns. The repertoire may delve into the compositions of legendary jazz musicians such as Duke Ellington and Horace Silver.

Class size is limited to seven students, ensuring personalized attention and a focused learning environment.

Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of chords, scales and styles required.
