Overview

 Teens and near-teens ready for a dedicated pre-professional theater experience will thrive and learn in this process-based weekly workshop where they’ll experience every step involved in creating and performing in a musical. In this musical, just as in a professional show, only one child is cast in the lead role. All other participants join an ensemble and everyone will have the opportunity to try out for roles the first two weeks of the semester. Together students collaborate on producing School of Rock The Musical: Young Actors Edition, practicing teamwork and problem-solving skills while building confidence and exploring their creativity as individuals. The workshop culminates in a fully produced show for family and friends, with every student’s talent and contributions showcased, on the weekend of May 29-31.
