Adam Weiner (Low Cut Connie) in Conversation and Acoustic Performance with Andrew Cotto

Feb 29, 2024

The charismatic and open-hearted Adam Weiner, frontman of cult band Low Cut Connie, joins Andrew Cotto for an intimate talk and special acoustic performance. Weiner and his band have earned fans including Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, and Barack Obama – and an avid following – for the empathy and uplift they bring to indie rock and the spiritual joyousness of their concerts. Weiner talks with author and New York Times contributor Andrew Cotto about his positivity, finding inspiration in the ordinary, and leaning into what he calls his “Jewyness.” The band’s latest single “King of the Jews,” from the band’s album and accompanying documentary Art Dealers, is Weiner’s powerful response to the rise in antisemitism. Hear him talk about the role of art in addressing hate, using Jewyness as a source of strength, and his passionate belief in finding the freedom to be your true self.
