States Rising: Building National Power

Genevieve Scott, Jess Braverman, Kwajelyn Jackson, Elie Mystal, Julia Spiegel, and Tresa Undem

Jun 11, 2025

State governments working collaboratively are greater than the sum of their parts — and can create a mighty bulwark in pushing back against threats to democracy. How can governors and attorneys general across the country best meet this moment and join forces to protect and advance reproductive rights? What does current polling tell us about harnessing power through messaging? Leaders of state and national efforts will be joined by communications experts to answer these questions and more.

This program is part of 92NY Recanati-Kaplan Talks.
This program is part of the Newmark Civic Life Series, known for conversations with leading experts exploring pro-democracy efforts at this critical moment in the US and around the world, supported by Craig Newmark Philanthropies
