92NY’s Center for Children and Family provides an exceptional array of programs designed to support children at every stage of their development.
In this class, you'll make a textured or pierced sterling silver ring, along with a simple bezel setting for a ring or pendant. Built for complete beginners, this is a true introduction to the craft. No prior experience is required, but makers seeking a refresh to their basic skills are also welcome. You'll learn the foundational techniques of jewelry making: sawing, filing, soldering, piercing, polishing, and forming, working with your hands from the first session. By the end, you'll leave with a finished piece and a real, working sense of how metal becomes jewelry.
