Step into the world of songwriting with guidance from Christopher North, a celebrated singer/songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist whose eclectic career has taken him from Carnegie Hall to the Newport Folk Festival, and from the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra to Grammy award-winning recordings.
A Texas native thriving in Brooklyn, Christopher has composed scores for over 60 films, including award-winning and Grammy-nominated projects, and created an impressive portfolio of 20 genre-spanning albums.
As an Associate Professor in the Berklee College of Music’s Songwriting Department and a long-standing educator at The 92nd Street Y, Christopher brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to his teaching. Known for his genre-blending style, Christopher has performed with icons like Quincy Jones, the Chicks and Rosanne Cash, in orchestras and at world renowned venues and on Broadway. He’s composed for Theater and Dance, written songs for eclectic albums and for Film and Children’s TV.
