Create your own tile murals in this exciting workshop with artist Verdiana Patacchini. Open to students of all levels, you’ll learn to use ceramic underglazes to paint on premade tiles, resulting in a stunning glazed mini mural. Throughout the workshop, you’ll explore the rich history of tile artistry, studying various motifs and processes while drawing inspiration from traditional designs such as Portuguese ceramics or Chinese patterns. Each day will focus on a different aspect of tile painting, beginning with an introduction to materials and tools, followed by hands-on practice in underglaze techniques. You’ll refine your color and composition skills as you finalize your tile designs, preparing your artwork for firing to ensure a beautiful finish. At the end of the workshop, you’ll assemble, glue, and grout your original tile artwork onto a wood panel, creating a unique mural ready to adorn your wall. All supplies and firing fees are included in the tuition.
