In this outdoor watercolor series, you’ll paint on location along Manhattan’s Hudson River waterfront, including Little Island, working directly from observation. Guided by Wennie Huang, you’ll explore how to capture light, atmosphere, and movement while translating expansive views and architectural details into watercolor. Demonstrations and individual guidance will focus on composition, simplifying complex scenes, and using watercolor’s fluid qualities to suggest depth and space. Each session builds your confidence working outdoors while sharpening both technical skills and visual decision making. This class offers a sustained opportunity to engage deeply with Manhattan’s evolving waterfront through painting.
