Neutral Colors

These neutral colors are ones that I have used over the years in both the portrait, still life and landscape. They will not always be used for every portrait nor every color used at once for one portrait. Color is subjective and often what I see is not necessarily what you may see. Palettes change according to the light and the subject. You learn and develop a color palette by practice, studying other paintings and drawings and training your eye to see. All these colors are derived from red, yellow, blue and white.
