How to Apply for Financial Assistance

Before You Begin

The application takes approximately 10 minutes and cannot be saved and resumed, so please have your information and documents ready before you begin.

• Be prepared to tell us exactly which program or class, start date and time you are seeking in your application.
• Please gather your required financial documentation before starting your application (see Required Documents section below). Supporting documents are required for all financial assistance requests and must be submitted with your application.
• You will need a 92NY Community Portal account to apply. If you already have an account, log in. If you do not have an account, you can create one during the login process. Visit the Community Portal.

Applying for Financial Assistance

1. Log in to the 92NY Community Portal.
2. Click the Financial Assistance button near the bottom of the menu on the left.
3. Select the program for which you are applying.
4. Complete the application.
5. Upload your required financial documents and submit your application.

Required Documents

Please redact all Social Security and account numbers before uploading documents. 

Required for all applicants:

• Rent receipt or maintenance/mortgage statement
• 2025 Federal Tax Return (Form 1040 or 1040EZ), including schedules

If applicable:

• Current pay stub
• Public Assistance, SNAP, or Unemployment verification
• SSI, SSD, pension, or child support verification
• School tuition, scholarship, or student loan documentation

After You Apply

You will receive your financial assistance determination by email once your application has been reviewed. The award letter will include your scholarship award amount and any remaining balance. You must then call our customer care team to complete registration and pay any remaining fees.

Given the high number of requests, please allow at least 2 weeks for a response.
