Muldoon’s Picnic is back: a raucous variety show where poetry, music, and conversation come together for a literary salon, just in time for National Poetry Month.
Hosted by Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Paul Muldoon, Muldoon’s Picnic gathers artists who delight in crossing boundaries: 2025 National Book Award winner Patricia Smith, one of the definitive poets of her generation, whose new book The Intentions of Thunder crackles with urgency, moral force, and music; Susan Morrison, the incisive writer behind Lorne: The Man Who Invented Saturday Night Live, whose bestselling biography blends expert reportage with the magical alchemy of SNL’s comedic mayhem; and Grammy Award-winning folk music legend Loudon Wainwright III, whose unmistakable songs and brilliant storytelling dance blur the line between tragedy and comedy. The house band, as always, is Rogue Oliphant — featuring legendary musicians like Cait O’Riordan of the Pogues, David Mansfield of Bob Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Revue, and more.
Join a group of renowned artists for a freewheeling evening of poetry, storytelling, music, and more. Surprises abound: don’t miss out.
