What does the rise of AI reveal about us — not just our technology, but our humanity? Could it give our species a new sense of purpose?
Pulitzer Prize finalist Robert Wright (The Evolution of God) joins us for a provocative conversation with bestselling author Bruce Feiler about his new book, The God Test: Artificial Intelligence and our Coming Cosmic Reckoning — a sweeping new study of AI as an evolutionary force that will pose deep political, moral, and even spiritual challenges.
As AI grows ever more capable, Wright asks whether the greatest challenge it poses is not technological but existential: what does it mean to be human in an age of intelligent machines? Can AI deepen our understanding of ourselves — and of one another? In a conversation drawing on Bruce Feiler’s groundbreaking work exploring how we build purpose and community in times of change, the two examine how AI is reshaping our sense of identity, belonging, and shared values in an era of rapid change.
Is AI simply a powerful new tool, a mirror reflecting humanity back to itself, or a profound test of our collective flourishing? Expect an illuminating conversation about technology, spirituality, and what it will take to remain rooted in our human in the years to come.
