Spiral Rope

A great introduction to seed bead work, no prior beading experience is needed. Create bangles, necklaces, `and lariats of your own design while learning a very simple and versatile seed bead stitch. Begin with the basics and then move on to some of the numerous design possibilities.
Instructor will demo and give handouts in class.
Supply List:
For the first class: please bring a cloth to work on (old pillowcase works well), magnification if needed, notebook and pencil
Project: Bracelet or bangle and or necklace.
- Beads: 1 tube of 6/0 seed bead (Japanese or Czech)
- 1 tube of 8/0 seed bead (Japanese) for a bracelet or bangle
- (2 tubes of 8/0 seed bead for necklace.)
- Thread: Fireline D (6lb)
- Needles: #10 stiff English beading needles
- Bee’s wax for thread
- Tools: small Fiskar scissors or wire cutters for the Fireline
Week 2: finishing the bracelet and necklace with either a loop or bead tip and creating an invisible join for the bangle. Will discuss supplies needed for closures in 1st class.
Week 3: creating Lariat endings and additional designs to use to design the Spiral Rope. Using pearls and/or semi-precious beads.
