Meet the Inaugural Cohort

Five Community-Building Changemakers

After receiving nearly 350 applications from across 42 states and territories, five exceptional organizations were selected for the inaugural cohort of UpTide, our accelerator for visionary, community-building nonprofits. Each is led by an inspiring changemaker deeply rooted in their community, working to strengthen belonging, resilience, and connection.

Over five months, the cohort engaged in tailored workshops designed to address the unique challenges and opportunities of community-centered work. In January 2026, they took the stage at 92NY for the UpTide Nonprofit Accelerator Showcase. Hosted by Logan McClure Davda, CEO of TED, the evening featured inspiring live pitches and a dynamic panel conversation on “Scaling Impact in Today’s Complex World” — a timely call to action for everyone committed to strengthening communities and building connection. Following thoughtful deliberation by our judges and an enthusiastic audience vote, we are proud to announce the award recipients:
$25,000 Judges’ Award: Zuni Youth Enrichment Project
$5,000 Audience Choice Award: Inheritance Theater Project
