Overview

Through a series of easy to follow, step-by-step instructions and carefully structured assignments and practical projects, we will create a series of abstract paintings and drawings together. Explore how to use traditions and contemporary approaches to create a more effective and memorable experience for the viewer while also embracing the experimental. First, we'll discuss some fundamental concepts in the art historical context, and then we dive right into the fun part: drawing and painting abstract art! At the end of the class, you have a strong understanding of structure, composition, form, and color theory. You will also further your ability to express your authentic artistic voice in abstraction.
