Adult B'nei Mitzvah Class

Overview

Are you ready to take the next step in your Jewish journey, along with a community of fellow explorers?  

This adult B'nei Mitzvah course will be taught by The Torateinu Project, a team of experienced teachers: Cantor Susanne Katchko, Liz Wagner and Susan Wagner. In a joyful and supportive environment, learners will build strong foundations of Jewish learning, including Hebrew reading, so that they can chant Torah, compose a short commentary on their portion, and participate confidently in a group B'nei Mitzvah service. By the end, students will have forged a closer connection to their Judaism and their community, ready to continue a lifetime of experiencing and learning. Students will need to purchase a book for this course. The book is Learn Hebrew Today: Alef-Bet for Adults, by Paul Michael Yedwab with Howard I. Bogot. The publisher is Behrman House.

The course will include 14 Tuesday evening group classes between January and May, plus some private one-on-one sessions for support with learning to chant assigned Torah verses. The Adult B'nei Mitzvah service will be on Saturday, May 22.
