Overview

In this class, you'll make a textured or pierced sterling silver pendant, along with a simple band ring. Built for complete beginners, this is a true introduction to the craft. No prior experience is required, but makers seeking a refresh to their basic skills are also welcome. You'll learn the foundational techniques of jewelry making: sawing, filing, soldering, piercing, polishing, and forming, working with your hands from the first session. You'll also learn the basics of texturizing metal by stamping, rolling and hammering. By the end, you'll leave with a finished piece and a real, working sense of how metal becomes jewelry.
