Botanical Drawing II

Overview

Building on the foundational skills acquired in Botanical Drawing I, Botanical Drawing II delves deeper into the art and science of botanical illustration, offering a further exploration of techniques, materials, and methods used to capture the intricate beauty of plants. Historical examples will also inform our study. Students will work from preliminary study to finished drawing, using a subject of their choice, focusing on detail, texture and composition. The use of color with various media will also be considered. Prerequisite: Botanical Drawing I or Drawing for Absolute Beginners.
