Color Interaction: An Albers-Inspried Workshop
Color Interaction: An Albers-Inspried Workshop

Overview

In this focused three-hour workshop, you’ll work with ColorAid paper to explore how color shifts, vibrates, and transforms depending on its context. Through a series of hands-on exercises inspired by Josef Albers’s influential teaching at the Bauhaus and later at Yale, you’ll engage with his approach to learning by doing, testing how colors interact rather than relying on theory alone. You’ll see firsthand how the eye can be both challenged and deceived, cutting, arranging, and layering color to uncover unexpected effects and relationships. All materials provided.
