Drawing at the Met for Teens
Drawing at the Met for Teens

Overview

Drawing at the Met provides students with a weekly session drawing the amazingly rich and diverse collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Lessons are grounded in the basics of drawing – line, tone and composition – while emphasizing that drawing is interpretive, a way to learn, explore, invent, think, make connections, observe and practice taking time. Students will focus on technique and craft in relation to both developing strong skills and personal expression, and they will gain a foundation in art history and for further engagement with the Museum. Students will meet instructor at the Met (specific location to be shared via email) and should be prepared to complete assignments outside of class time.
