    Drawing with Pastel: The Still Life

    Overview

    Artists from Van Eyck to Picasso have used the still life as a vehicle for learning and practicing their skills. We will follow this tradition using demonstrations and explanations at each stage of the creative process. From organizing a composition by balancing the placement of elements to resolving shadows and shading, demonstrations will emphasize strong drawing skills as the foundation of art. Color harmony will be demonstrated using color theory, color mixing and explanations of various color schemes. Mixing colors from your pastel box will be shown.
