Intro to Screenwriting with Dan Perlman

Overview

This course is designed for anyone who has ever wanted to write for the screen but hasn't known where to start. Whether you have a notebook full of ideas, a scene you can't stop replaying in your head, or no experience at all, this workshop gives you the tools and structure to get your story out of your head and onto the page. We begin with the fundamentals: screenplay formatting, three-act structure, and how to build character and story arcs. Through weekly writing exercises and supportive peer workshops, each writer will develop and complete an original short film script. An ideal environment for first-timers looking to learn the language of screenwriting, find their voice, and walk away with a piece of work they're proud of.

Scholarship assistance is available. Applications must be returned to Scholarship Services at least two weeks before the first session.
