Gouache is an opaque, water-based paint known for its rich color, versatility, and immediacy. In this all-day intensive, you’ll get a thorough introduction to gouache materials and techniques, with all supplies provided. Through demonstrations and guided exercises, you’ll learn to mix and apply paint, starting with transparent washes and building up to bold, opaque layers. Working from a still life, you’ll explore light and shadow, color mixing, blocking in shapes, and layering warm and cool hues. A perfect way to try the medium and see what makes it so unique! All supplies provided.
