This Upper East Side class offers an insightful introduction to the fundamentals of jazz piano, focusing on jazz harmony, rhythm, melody, and improvisation. Designed for musicians with basic piano skills but no prior jazz experience.
With years of teaching and performing experience, Jamie has become a go-to instructor known for his ability to inspire and connect with students. In this class, students will learn essential jazz piano techniques such as chord voicings, rhythmic comping, and solo piano styles. The repertoire includes timeless pieces from the Great American Songbook as well as works by jazz legends like Duke Ellington and Sonny Rollins.
