Piano (Intermediate)

Overview

Intermediate group Piano class is designed for students who have already completed our Beginner group piano class and are ready to move to the next level.

This class, on the Upper East Side will deepen your understanding of scales, chords, and piano technique, while encouraging you to explore how different sounds and musical phrases can evolve into full, expressive ideas.

To join, students should be comfortable playing major and minor scales up to two flats and sharps and have a solid understanding of basic chords and voicings. If you’re unsure about your level, contact the School of Music office for guidance.

This class has a required materials. Please refer to our Instrument Recommendations Document for more information regarding class books, materials, and more. We strongly urge students to have regular access to a practice instrument at home.

Class size is limited to seven students to maximize individual attention and maintain the small group environment.
