Gather with friends and neighbors for Shabbat music, dancing, blessings, a kid-friendly, vegetarian dinner and a warm community celebration!
For almost 20 years, 92NY Shababa has been the place for families to celebrate Shabbat and connect with community on the UES. And now, for the fourth year, Shababa is making its way to Queens! We will be joined by our friends from Malkhut, a progressive, Jewish, spiritual community with strong ties to the JH neighborhood! A local family (who is a friend of both Shababa and Malkhut!) graciously hosts us in their home (and still finds time to bake homemade challah too!)
*We kindly request that you register as far in advance as possible. Our gracious hosts cook dinner, and it is helpful to know how many they are feeding, as well as dietary needs in advance. Upon registration, you will receive a ‘get to know you form.’ Thank you for your timely replies! (Address to be provided at later date, after filling out our GET TO KNOW YOU FORM.)
Upcoming dates:
Nov 13
(Stay tuned for more dates coming soon ...)
$20/child
$10/additional child(ren)
$0/adults
Please register for all people in your family who are attending. Recommended for families with kids ages 0-7, but all are welcome!
Led by Rebecca Schoffer, Director of Jewish Family Life and founded by Karina Zilberman in 2007, 92NY Shababa celebrates the intersection between ancient Jewish tradition and the needs of modern families. At Shababa, we invite everyone in the room to be fully present and to connect with Judaism in a relaxed, soulful and meaningful environment.
