Overview

Get a hands-on introduction to watercolor with artist Allison Maletz in this beginner-friendly, one-day workshop. You’ll start by exploring a range of essential watercolor techniques, including washes, wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry painting, layering, blending, lifting, color mixing, and creating texture. Through demonstrations and guided exercises, you’ll get a feel for how water, pigment, paper, and brush work together. In the second half of the day, you’ll bring those techniques together in a still life painting, using what you’ve learned to explore color, light, shape, and composition. Designed for beginners, this workshop is a welcoming way to build confidence with watercolor and get a strong foundation for future classes.
