REQUIRED MATERIALS:

Please bring the required materials listed below to our first class.

1. Watercolor palette: please have either a compact set or a multi-well mixing tray with paints in tubes. You DO NOT need to get both.

Compact set with 8+ colors 
Suggestion: Watercolor compact set (suggestion: Winsor & Newton Cotman Watercolor Paint Sketchers' Pocket Box, Half Pans 12-color set)

or Multi-well mixing tray and paints

• multi-well mixing tray: Richeson Rectangular Porcelain Palette - 3 3/4" x 3/4" x 7", 10 Wells
• Paint color in tubes: Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Red, Cadmium Yellow, Raw Sienna(or Yellow Ochre), Sap Green, Viridian Green, Ultramarine Blue and Cobalt Blue(or Phthalo Blue) (suggested brands: Winsor & Newton Cotman, HCW or Schmincke)

2. Watercolor Brushes:

Rounds  #4, #8 #10

Flats  3/4”, (1” flat is recommended but optional) 

Suggestion: 

• Synthetic hair brush (budget friendly)
• Princeton Velvertouch synthetic brushes
• Princeton Neptune synthetic squirrel brushes
• Animal hair brush (not required)
• Raphael series 8404 Kolinsky Sable Brushes 
• Winsor & Newton Series 7 Kolinsky Sable Brushes 

3. Watercolor Paper:

Sheets of Watercolor paper (cold press or hot press) 140lb or heavier 

Optional size: 9 in. x 12 in. or 11 in. x 15 in. or 12 in. x 18 in.

4. Additional Materials:

Pencil #HB, Kneaded eraser
