Overview

The brilliant clarinetist Anthony McGill’s third and final 92NY concert this season features him in collaboration with pianist Conrad Tao – hailed by The New York Times for his “probing intellect and open-hearted vision.”

They perform Brahms’ lyrical and beloved second Clarinet Sonata, a work a renowned critic and friend of Brahms wrote is “as if it had fallen from the Heavens.” Also on the program: Berg’s imaginative miniatures Four Pieces, and additional works to be announced. Performing together at La Jolla’s SummerFest in 2023, La Jolla Music Society wrote, “McGill and Tao shared a deep and deliberate unity and brought an arresting timelessness to their playing.” Don’t miss the first performance together in NYC by two artists not only defining classical music in our time but shaping its future.

Online streaming also available for 72 hours following the performance.

Classical music at 92NY received major support from Marshall Weinberg z”l.
This program is part of Tisch Music.
