Dance has never lived in just one place. It lives onstage, onscreen, and everywhere movement meets the camera.
With the launch of the Dance On Film Festival, 92NY expands its long-standing commitment to dance across forms. As dance artists continue to experiment with how choreography is made, seen, and shared, this new festival offers a space to explore what becomes possible when dance moves beyond the stage. Featuring documentaries, short films, and boundary-pushing collaborations, Dance On Film brings audiences closer to the artists shaping how dance is experienced now.
The festival is part of the Harkness Mainstage Series’ Home season, exploring how dance maps the shifting terrain of home, identity, and belonging, and the borders – visible and invisible – that shape us.

After training and performing in theater and dance from a young age, Tobin Del Cuore attended The Juilliard School and went on to become a dancer and trusted collaborator with many of today’s most acclaimed choreographers and companies.
In the midst of a successful performing career, Del Cuore began working as a self-trained filmmaker. He then founded his production company Imagination + Muscle in 2011, for which he has produced and directed an extensive body of work, including music videos, commercials, promotional videos, live streams, dance films, and multi-camera live performance captures.
Most recently, Del Cuore has worked extensively with The 92nd Street Y, directing multicamera shoots of dance performances for the Harkness Mainstage Series and an upcoming documentary film. Short films directed by Del Cuore (Monument, Forgotten Song, The Sky Was Different) have been screened at film festivals worldwide, including the Edmonton International Film Festival, the Toyko International Short Film Festival, Dances With Films LA, and Blow-Up International Arthouse Filmfest Chicago. He has recently co-written a screenplay for his first narrative short film, which is currently in process.
Over the course of his creative career as an artist in many mediums, Tobin has collected a growing community of like-minded individuals who call upon each other to meet the challenge of each new commission. These relationships and varied endeavors continue to push the imagination and build memory in the creative muscle. He applies this massive experience to each creative process.
On a personal note, Del Cuore spends as much time as possible at their home in his native Maine with his husband Boswell and their two Brussels Griffons, Crouton and Onion.
Alice Klock and Florian Lochner discovered their co-creative magic while serving as dancers and Choreographic Fellows at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. In 2017, they created FLOCK, through which they perform their own work and co-create new choreography for film and stage. Their most recent international tours include their evening length productions Somewhere Between (named one of Chicago Tribune’s top 10 shows of 2023), Quest, Anima, and The Designer. As a team, they have choreographed for multiple dance companies, universities, and cultural institutions, including Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Whim W’Him, GroundWorks DanceTheater, Backhausdance, Orsolina 28, Ballet Idaho, University of Michigan, Seattle Dance Collective, the Goethe Institut, the Alonzo King LINES Ballet BFA, and The 92nd Street Y. Every year they create a new production for the Freilichtspiele Schwäbisch Hall in southern Germany where they are company in residence.
Malcolm Wesley’s film work has been featured by Complex Magazine, Dance Magazine, Deutsche Welle, and the front page of Yahoo! His films have screened internationally, including at the University of Chicago’s Neubauer Collegium for Culture & Society, the University of Michigan, the Idaho Film Society, and venues across Germany.
