92NY is honored to co-present a community-wide service in honor of Tekes Ma’Avar at Central Synagogue, this year's host, and co-presented alongside Park Avenue Synagogue, Kehilath Jeshurun, the Jewish Agency and UJA-New York. Rabbi David Ingber with Central Synagogue Clergy will lead the ceremony along with senior clergy from partnering organizations.

During Tekes Ma’avar — the “ceremony of transition” — we meaningfully mark the transition from the somber and reflective Yom HaZikaron (Memorial Day) to the celebratory and joyful Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israeli Independence Day), and praise the resilience and hope of Israel and its people. This ceremony will include a powerful moment to also honor and acknowledge the hostages still in captivity. The renowned HaZamir Chorale, will accompany the service with a powerful performance.

The ceremony bridges two of Israel’s most important days of the year and offers the space to acknowledge the layers of emotions the country’s history brings up.

In a time when recognizing Israel’s history is crucial — and can be both painful and hopeful — join your fellow Jewish New Yorkers at this important worship service.

This service will also be livestreamed.
