Christian Gerhaher, baritone & Gerhold Huber, piano

Jun 08, 2027

“Unassailable levels of skill, love, and artistry,” hailed Bachtrack following Christian Gerhahar’s all-Brahms performance at London’s Wigmore Hall. One of the world’s most acclaimed lieder singers, Gerhaher joins us with his longtime piano accompanist Gerhold Huber, bringing his all-Brahms program to our stage. Devoted to the art of lied interpretation for more than 30 years and honing his craft under great masters of the genre, including Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Gerhahar is celebrated for his performances and recordings of the landmarks of German lieder. Following sublime surveys of Schubert and Schumann, he explores Brahms, performing the composer’s songs of heartbreak and romantic despair with his spellbinding artistry. Experience lieder singing of the highest order by one of its greatest exponents.
