Muldoon’s Picnic: Marie Howe, Molly Jong-Fast, Richard Thompson, and Paul Muldoon with Rogue Oliphant

Nov 24, 2025

Paul Muldoon hosts a celebratory night of literature and music — bringing his legendary series, Muldoon's Picnic, to our stage for the first time.

For over a decade, across the world, Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Paul Muldoon has gathered a starry mix of some of the best writers and musicians in the world for Muldoon’s Picnic — a roving, carnivalesque salon where just about anyone might show up: from Colson Whitehead, Joyce Carol Oates, and Joy Harjo to Mike Birbiglia, Roseanne Cash, and Paul Simon.

For the first ever 92NY edition of the series, Muldoon presents Marie Howe, winner of the 2025 Pulitzer Prize in poetry for her New and Selected Poems; Molly Jong-Fast, host of the hit podcast Fast Politics and author of How to Lose Your Mother; folk-rock pioneer Richard Thompson —  one half of the legendary duo Richard & Linda Thompson, and “the finest songwriter after Dylan and the best electric guitarist since Hendrix” (The Los Angeles Times) — along with Muldoon himself as host, performing in the Muldoon’s Picnic house band, Rogue Oliphant.

Join us for this eclectic, raucous evening, featuring some of the most revered writers and artists of our time — a night of poetry, music, ideas and much more. Surprises abound — don't miss out.

This program is part of the Unterberg Poetry Center.
