Overview

A big-thinking pianist with a huge musical mind, David Kaplan’s recitals are built around compelling concepts, as with his “ … quasi una fantasia.”

Celebrating the Beethoven anniversary, Kaplan explores the grey area between composition and improvisation, looking at Beethoven’s “Moonlight” Sonata through a modern lens via contemporary pieces by composers from Ligeti and Christopher Cerrone to Saariaho and Anthony Cheung.

Online streaming also available for 72 hours following the performance.
