Overview

“Solace for the soul” – All About Jazz

One of the most acclaimed creative artists of his time and a major force in contemporary jazz for half a century, trumpeter, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and Pulitzer Prize finalist Wadada Leo Smith joins us with rising star experimental artist Qasim Naqvi on synthesizers and fellow avant-garde legend Andrew Cyrtille on drums. The recently formed trio brings music from their acclaimed album Two Centuries, blending Naqvi’s electronics, Smith’s trumpet, and Cyrille’s percussion in mesmerizing new sonic explorations that are both a protest and a paean for harmony.
