In this six-week asynchronous course, participants delve into the key components of lesson planning and curriculum design informed by the DEL framework and different curriculum design models.
Participants learn different approaches to develop scaffolded, developmentally appropriate, student centered, and standards-based dance learning lessons that draw connections to dance artistry, theme-based learning, and arts integration. Participants also learn how to design inspired and dynamic lessons that align student learning objectives with content and assessments. By the end of the course, participants will design an original six-lesson dance unit. This course also includes one-on-one coaching sessions for students taking the course for credit (DEL CERT & SUNY/ESC) with course facilitators, Ann Biddle and Catherine Gallant.
Please note: This course is offered asynchronously through DEL’s online learning management system. Access to the course opens to participants at 8 am ET. Students taking the course for credit are expected to complete assignments on a weekly basis. Audit students may access course materials at their leisure and are not expected to complete course assignments.
