Kris Davis Trio

Overview

NPR calls her compositions “a mosaic of emotional expression” and her sound “avant-garde, but inviting.”

Renowned jazz critic Nate Chinen has called her “one of the most singular talents in creative music.” Downbeat has twice named her “Pianist of the Year.” The brilliant, Grammy Award-winning Kris Davis joins us with her powerhouse trio, Robert Hurst on bass and the legendary Jeff “Tain” Watts on drums, for an evening of her hypnotic, layered music. The New York Times has hailed Davis as a beacon for “deciding where to hear jazz [in New York] on a given night.” On this night, hear her here – in the hushed intimacy of our hall.
