Dance Therapy Alternate Route Program 2027-2029

92NY announces a new cycle of the Dance Therapy Alternate Route Program, commencing in Summer 2027.

The Dance Therapy Alternate Route Program offers a unique pathway to access the dance therapy field. This intensive 3-week program will span three summers, providing the comprehensive dance therapy training towards alternate route Dance/Movement Therapist certification. Courses are taught by an esteemed faculty of BC-DMTs and cover a range of methods, theory, and practice. All courses are held in person at the 92NY, with classes running from 9am-6pm, 6 days a week, for the course of the 3-week session.

The program is specifically designed for students who possess a Master’s degree in mental health or a dance discipline or who are working towards such a degree. Please see the ADTA’s alternate route page for complete details on alternate route training.

One cannot receive an NYS LCAT through a dance therapy alternate route program.

Tuition costs are $3200 per summer. Scholarships are available, and information on scholarship applications will be provided after the student is accepted. Individuals residing outside of New York City are responsible for their own travel and accommodations costs.
