Future Dance Festival 2026 Application – Online Dance Film Festival

8 emerging women and female-identifying dance filmmakers will be selected to share their original films in an online program available from April 16-23.

All selected artists receive a performance honorarium of $300.00.

Festival Rules:

• Films must be no longer than 8 minutes in length. Films that exceed 8 minutes will not be considered.
• Applicants must be female-identifying.
• All submitted films must have been created on or after January 1, 2021.
• Applicants are only allowed ONE submission. If a second application is submitted, only the first application received will be reviewed.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
• Future Dance Festival is designed to support emerging dance filmmakers who have not yet had a platform to present their work professionally. If you consider yourself an established dance filmmaker with robust professional experience in the field of dance filmmaking, please do not apply.
• Film submissions must be shared in .mp4 or .mov file format and must be 1920x1080 resolution.
• Films must be the original work of the Applicants.
• Applicants are solely responsible for obtaining all necessary licenses, rights and permissions for third-party materials included in their Films, including but not limited to music, images, trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property rights.

Terms & Conditions:

• Submission of the Film for consideration does not guarantee presentation as a part of the 92NY Future Dance Festival. 92NY has the sole and final authority to decide whether to accept the Film and is not required to explain or justify its decision.
• Applicant represents and warrants that: they are the owner of the Film; they have obtained all necessary licenses, rights and permissions for third-party materials included in their Film; the Film does not (i) contain material that is defamatory or, (ii) infringes on any right, including any intellectual property right, of a third party; and they have the authority to grant all rights and licenses hereunder.
• Applicant agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless 92NY, its subsidiaries, directors, officers, employees and representatives from any loss arising out of Applicant’s representations and warranties; any third-party claims that relate to Applicant’s submission of the Film or 92NY’s use or presentation of the Film; and any infringement or alleged infringement of any intellectual property right or other right of any person or entity by the Film.
• If selected, Applicant grants 92NY a license and right (i) to exhibit and display the Film at the 92NY Future Dance Festival; (ii) to use stills and/or clips from the Film for promotional use; and (iii) to include the Film in 92NY’s archive.
